Pre-launch decision table | checked Jul 1, 2026

Mistfall Hunter classes and role choice.

This page does not pretend to know final launch balance. It gives a decision framework for choosing your first class when an extraction ARPG asks you to risk gear, loot, and time.

How to pick before tier lists settle

Pre-launch tier lists are fragile. Use a role question instead:

Class decision table

Player needClass style to watchWhy it matters in extractionLaunch note
Safest first solo runsDurable melee or self-sustain roleSurvives imperfect routes and messy fights.Confirm actual sustain and escape tools at launch.
Learning maps from rangeRanged pressure or poke roleLets you gather information before committing.Check ammo/resource economy before recommending.
Team utilityControl, reveal, shield, or healing roleRaises extraction odds even without top damage.Team meta will depend on matchmaking and boss routes.
High-risk loot fightsBurst or engage roleWins contested loot windows but may be punished by bad exits.Do not call this best until launch PvP data exists.
Beginner claritySimple rotation, clear escape, obvious gear goalsReduces decision load in early runs.Best first class may differ from best endgame class.

Best solo class framework

The best solo class is usually not the highest DPS class. It is the class that can recover from bad positioning, disengage, and still extract with partial loot. For launch, track these traits:

Best team class framework

In teams, class value shifts toward information, setup, and rescue. If one teammate handles engage, another can focus on control or survival. Avoid three players all choosing the same fragile damage role on day one.

Launch update target: replace this framework with verified class names, skill notes, and beginner recommendations after the game is live.
